AWL Academy

Lifelong learning!

Whether you’re an ambitious starter or an experienced professional, at AWL we believe that you never stop learning. Our markets ensure that there is always a need for constant personal development. So training our knowledge and skills is essential. We have therefore developed the AWL Academy, which is designed to continue to improve the knowledge and skills of our employees. The AWL Academy now has more than 50 internal training courses, taught by our own passionate professionals as well as professionals from various colleges and training institutes. This enables us to always provide for your educational needs.

70-20-10 principle

AWL believes in a High Performance Culture, where employees are responsible for their own technical and personal development, with the help and guidance of their line manager. We learn according to the 70-20-10 principle, which states that 70% of your development takes place in practice (informal), 20% through coaching, mentoring and feedback and 10% by following training or education (formal).

The training that I follow at the AWL Academy helps me develop at the personal level as well as at the AWL level. For example, I refreshed my German language skills and I acquired time management tools. I also obtained a better idea of the tendering process at AWL and I learned the basics of programming a robot. Both are topics that have little to do with my daily work, but it has helped me get to know the company better. You are also encouraged to train your colleagues. So I give ‘How to make presentations’ training for colleagues who want to become more proficient in this or to trainees who wish to prepare properly for their final presentation. It is a good thing that both opportunities are offered: either following training or giving one.
