What does the program at AWL look like?

You will be employed by AWL as an electrician and at the same time you will follow the two-year part-time program, which is funded by AWL. The combination of learning and working enables you to gain knowledge about (new) tasks and methods in this field. In this way, you can connect theory to practice and apply it immediately.

After the training…

…you are not done yet! After finishing your studies, the goal is for you to flow through to our robot department to become a robot programmer and follow the 100-day AWL program. In just 100 days, we teach you to program different robot brands.

100-day programs

The training at Windesheim

Every six months focuses on a task area in which you will be prepared for a job in industrial automation and robotics. This is as follows:

  1. Field Technician: here you will learn the skills to assemble machines and to commission them and keep them running. Not only internally, but also on location at the customer.
  2. Programmer: during this semester, you learn to program automated machines and systems at a basic level and within a project group.
  3. Integrator: here you will learn how to design, realize and integrate a subsystem into a machine.
  4. Graduation project: the last step to complete your education. Together we look at research that fits within the field of work and your interests.

PLC and robot programming in just 100 days!

Some more important criteria

We ask at least three years’ work experience as an electrician. You get a one-year contract with of course the intention of finally converting it into a permanent contract. The training is paid. We draw up a study agreement for this.
