As Team Leader Logistics, you are responsible for the daily control and optimisation of the logistics processes within our organisation. You directly manage a team of approximately 15 to 20 employees within Expedition, the warehouse, Parts Production, Mould Construction, Weld Lab and Facility Management. In doing so, you work closely with experienced coordinators, who manage most of the daily operations.
You form the link between the operational departments and colleagues in the office and ensure that logistics processes are optimally aligned and efficiently executed. You are involved in solving operational issues, troubleshooting and implementing improvements. In addition, you are the point of contact for part of the facility matters and coordinate the work within the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coaching, mentoring and developing employees, including conducting 1-on-1 interviews and assessment and performance reviews.
  • Keeping in touch with our international locations to exchange knowledge and best practices.
  • Optimising logistics processes, including stock management, shipping and transport.
  • Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations on customs documents and international forwarding.
  • Analysing data and KPIs to measure performance and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Drafting and implementing logistics strategies in collaboration with management.

This will be your day

8:00 After a cup of coffee with your colleagues, you check the planning and scan your mailbox for any bottlenecks. Next, you start with a week-long meeting with the warehouse, shipping and parts production team. Together, you discuss the priorities for the coming days and check whether anyone still needs help. During this meeting, you also discuss any bottlenecks and successes from the previous week, so that everyone is well prepared for the new week.
10:00 During the work meeting, one of the team members asks if you want to think about a challenge in the factory. Together, you decide to call the project manager and decide how best to tackle the challenge. You then have a meeting with some colleagues to discuss the set-up of the new ERP package. You discuss how to work with project-specific stock and how this can always be tracked within the warehouse and production.
13:00 After lunch (and a short walk with a colleague), you get down to 1-on-1 discussions. You discuss colleagues' progress, their development goals and any issues. These conversations are crucial for your team members' personal and professional growth and help them achieve their goals.
15:00 You then set aside an hour to update your mailbox and follow up on ongoing matters. You answer questions from colleagues and ensure that progress is made on the various improvement projects. Finally, you walk around the factory to check that everything is neat and tidy and at the same time check if there are still people who want to discuss something.
16:30 Time is flying! It's already 16:30! You wrap up the day and close your laptop. Feeling satisfied, you return home.
