As Finance Manager, you will be the driving force behind the development of our finance team in the Netherlands. You will inspire and motivate your team members to reach their full potential and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. You work closely with the Executive Board and the Team Leader Accounting to take the Accounting and Project Control teams (for which you are responsible) to the next level. You will also play a crucial role in the further development, simplification and automation of our financial processes, using the latest technologies such as AI and RPA (Robot Process Automation).

Your responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination, quality, analysis and explanation of the monthly closing (A-Z);
  • Ensuring the coordination, quality, analysis and explanation of budgeting and forecasting;
  • Responsible for the activities and results of the Project Control team and contribute to the control and risk management of projects;
  • Coordinating the financial statements and audit, provide position papers and ensure their quality;
  • Support the governance and reporting of our holding company and other entities;
  • Ensuring accurate cash flow forecasting and financing and manage transfer pricing and VAT;
  • Finally, you take the lead on special (group) projects that are complex and cross-functional, working with different OpCos, BUs and disciplines.

This will be your day

8:00 You will lead the weekly start in which the main priorities and focal points for the coming week are discussed. This makes it clear to everyone what is going on in the department. Together with the project controllers, you review the changes in last month's project forecast and jointly decide how uncertainties or issues should be handled when translating them into monthly financial results.
10:00 You dive into the monthly closure and, together with the accounting team leader, ensure coordination, quality, completeness and analyses. You write a voice over to clearly present the results to the team and stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.
13:00 Immediately after lunch in the company restaurant, it's time for a team meeting! You focus on the development of your team members and discuss the progress of ongoing projects and improvements. You make sure everyone gets the support they need to achieve their goals.
15:00 A team member comes to you with a complex issue about a special project with a client. You offer your expertise and work together to find a solution.You are energised to act as an advisor and help your team grow and move the project forward.
16:15 The payment week is prepared by the team, you review the proposal with the cash flow forecast you manage for the coming period and, after reconciliation, approve the payments.You then close your laptop and leave for home. In the evening, you have another meeting with your colleague in the US, who asks you a short help question.
