What do we expect?

  • A completed MBO/HBO qualification, preferably in logistics or export;
  • Experience in export logistics, including customs and transport documentation;
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English;
  • A proactive, improvement-oriented attitude: you think ahead, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements;
  • Preferably a forklift certificate or willingness to obtain one.

As an Export Employee at AWL, you are responsible for ensuring a seamless flow of goods in collaboration with external partners. Together with the Project Coordinator, you align requirements and schedules for transporting our machines, which are delivered internationally to our customers. You make sure all customs and shipping documents are correct and handle the administrative process accurately. In addition, you actively contribute to preparing our machines for transport.

Your responsibilities

  • Preparing accurate customs and transport documents (pro forma invoices, CMR, etc.).
  • Coordinating and registering shipments, from parcels to large machine transports.
  • Loading and unloading goods, including operating a forklift.
  • Contributing to process optimisation within the department.
  • Administrative tasks such as creating documentation and processing shipments.

This will be your day

7:30 You start your day with a coffee and a quick planning session. You check your emails and begin packing and registering the first shipments.
10:30 An air freight shipment needs to go today. You prepare the pro forma invoice and request the necessary customs documents.
13:00 After lunch, you finish some smaller courier shipments and print the daily manifest.
15:00 A driver arrives to load six crates for a customer in Germany. You assist with the forklift and ensure all documents are correctly signed off.
16:15 The day has flown by! You tidy up your workspace and make sure everything is ready for tomorrow.

Your tasks:

50% Packing and registering shipments and parcels.
30% Administration, documentation, and email management.
15% Loading shipments and assisting with machine transports.
5% Requesting quotes and advising on transport options.
