What will you be doing?
As a Systems Administrator within IT Operations, you will be responsible for the management and further development of our IT infrastructure. You will ensure that systems function optimally and are continuously available – both at our head office and at our international branches. An occasional visit to one of our overseas locations? A varied aspect of the role that appeals to you.

You will work on a wide range of issues: from resolving complex faults to implementing new technologies such as Azure solutions. You will have considerable freedom to implement improvements and will actively contribute ideas regarding the future of our IT environment.

In addition you:

  • Manage and optimise the IT infrastructure (networks, servers, firewalls and SD-WAN);
  • Ensure secure and reliable systems through security measures and vulnerability checks;
  • Work on backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard data and business continuity;
  • Manage applications and ensure that software is up to date and functioning properly;
  • Handle complex second-line incidents and keep services running smoothly.

Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that IT is not a bottleneck, but rather a catalyst for the organisation.

This will be your day

8:00 You start the day with a quick check of the systems and monitoring tools. Are there any incidents or issues? If so, you set priorities and coordinate with the team.
10:00 You dive into an issue relating to network performance and liaise with colleagues to identify the cause. Currently you’ve read about a new vulnerability, so later this morning it’s time to create a change request and implement a security measure within the Azure environment.
13:00 After lunch, you discuss future IT improvements with the team. For example, you might discuss the implementation of an MDM solution or draw up a plan to update Citrix.
15:00 You help a colleague with a Power App in Azure that has stopped working. You get to grips with it and ensure they can get back to work quickly.
16:15 You check that all tickets have been updated and add the latest updates to them. At 16:30 your closing your laptop. Done for today!
