What are you going to do?
How often do you get the chance to work on software that is connected to large machines? We offer a job where you could use your programming knowledge in a different context in an unusual environment. As the R&D department of a machine builder, we started one year ago with developing software products around our machines. As a result, there is now the foundation for the first software product and we are looking for reinforcements for this young team!

As a full stack developer you will work on improving and further developing a software platform that enables our customers to get the most efficient production out of their machines based on data. You enter an R&D environment where you have the freedom to experiment with new technologies guaranteeing you stay up to date with the ever-evolving world of IT.
When it comes to software engineering the culture in the team is oriented towards ownership and quality; our goal is to deliver stable software (we even call it defense programming) that focuses on solving the most valuable challenges with great pragmatism.

What is the software stack?
At the moment, the stack consists of microservices that run in Docker containers, where the back end is mainly written in Golang and where the front end is realized in React in combination with D3.js and React-vis. For the design of the application, we use the Carbon design system.

What do we expect from you?
Besides developing code, you have the ability to assimilate new technologies quickly and the word impossible isn't in your dictionary. You will come in a team that builds multidisciplinary features, so you definitely have to be a team player. And your critical eye and creativity mindset will certainly be useful in the refinement meetings.

What do you bring?
  • At least a completed computer science education at HBO or WO level;
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in full-stack development;
  • At least 2 years of work experience with a comparable stack.
  • Experience in modern programming  languages (NO)SQL, Golang, Python
  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js)
  • Experience in an Agile / SCRUM work method is a pré;
  • Code versioning experience with Git, in combination with team collaboration tools like Github, Gitlab or Bitbucket.
  • You don't feel yourself uncomfortable with Linux system admin functions
  • Hands-on experience with containerization – Docker, Kubernetes
  • You are analytically strong, quality-oriented (testing), an enthusiastic team player, and someone who thinks proactively in finding solutions.

What can you expect from us?
You will be working in an international high-tech environment with plenty of room for your ideas and initiatives. Within AWL there is plenty of room for personal development, training and growth. You are leading in this! You can also participate in our sports program: Boost Your Life! Were you could you, for example, join out spinning classes or participate in the yearly mud-run. Sufficient holidays and nice bonus arrangements are of course included.
