Wat neem je mee?

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a comparable position in a multidisciplinary environment;

As a System Engineer, you are a key factor in the development process of AWL’s multidisciplinary team focuses on engineering for automated logistic systems and optimized solutions for our customers worldwide to achieve higher productivity. This requires to be detail-oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple technical tasks at once. In the role as a System Engineer, it is your main responsibility to translate the customer needs and user requirements to technical solutions and test protocols. You are the owner of the product architecture and closely cooperate with a team of professionals who will implement your design. You overseas functionalities and feasibility from a Mechanical, Hardware, and Software perspective. Due to your strong drive to learn, curiosity about innovative technologies, and analytical skills you offer deep guidance in complex technical projects that transcend multiple disciplines. Furthermore:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Demonstrable expertise around specifying, designing, and/or implementing innovative technical solutions to complex never be solved before problems;
  • Strong stakeholder management and technical communication with both technical and non-technical peers;
  • Familiar with the challenges surrounding efficient operations and failure mode analysis in large complex systems;
  • Identify and mitigate possible risks in an early stage;
  • Understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability;
  • Providing technical support in various areas. For example, in the preparation of control engineering design standards and procurement specifications;
  • Partnering with the Project Manager. Together you are responsible for the final acceptance and implementation.

8:00 After a cup of coffee and discussing the weekend with your colleagues, you are eager to start the week! You have a consultation with the logistics team to determine the priorities for this week.
11:00 You will meet with the project team on the shop floor, to offer consultancy in the realization of one of your solutions that is currently being commissioned. You discuss challenges and assess feasibility at an early stage.
13:00 After lunch break and a walk outside with your colleagues you dive back into your project. A new project has been sold for which you provided consultancy in the preliminary phase. You start by assessing all customer requirements and define the technical risks in the project.
15:00 You have a customer meeting with X, to explain the progress made by the team and answer possible technical questions.
16:45 Time flies!! Because you still have a few things you want to process/complete this evening, you'll go home soon!
