Wat neem je mee?

As a PLC Controls Engineer, you are a key factor in the development process of the AWL Engineering team for the Logistics Automation market. This multidisciplinary team focuses on engineering for automated logistic systems and optimized solutions for our customers, worldwide. This requires innovative developments and the constant need to improve the performance and reliability of our systems. You are responsible for developing the controls design of our applications. This includes software that controls robots, material handling/ gripper, and vision systems. It is important that you can think outside the standard framework, cooperate with the other disciplines and that you possess a large dose of creativity and ownership over the chain to contribute to the end result. You will work closely together with colleagues from other disciplines and facilities abroad. It is therefore important that you are open to working outside regular working hours and to travel for your work if necessary.


  • Developing the software control designs (in higher, and/or multiple programming languages) meeting high-quality demands and specifications;
  • Functional testing;
  • You naturally advise and support the development of concepts and system solutions;
  • Project reporting to stakeholders and involved colleagues;
  • Provide on-site user instructions and guidance to the customer’s staff.

8:00 After a cup of coffee and discussing the weekend with your colleagues, you are eager to start the week! You have the freedom to execute your work and will start with your own planning. You’ll monitor the schedules and agreed budget progress.
10:00 You dive back into your project, in which you are already in the final phase of the realization. Time to write the last part of the code!
13:00 Time to simulate if all requirements are complied with the project specifications. You proceed with the translation to the control design.
15:00 Your colleagues are stuck in a project and ask for your expertise. You are naturally acting as an advisor to fix this challenge together!
16:15 Time flies!! Because you have another customer meeting tonight, you go back home! You have confidence in the meeting and looking forward to deliver value towards the customer!
